The present investigation describes the spontaneous pathological lesions in urinary bladders (n = 177) of slaughtered buffaloes collected from Northern India. Gross examination revealed congestion, haemorrhages, oedematous changes and thickening mucosa. Microscopically, epithelial abnormalities, inflammatory neoplastic conditions were noticed. Epithelial abnormalities included hyperplasia, von Brunn’s nests, cystitis cystica glandularis. Inflammatory such as haemorrhages Cystitis was classified lymphocytic, plasmo-lymphocytic, follicular interstitial types. However, only single case haemangiosarcoma observed. Polymerase chain reaction presence DNA BPV-1 one sample out 21, while showed both BPV-2. On immunohistochemistry, Ki-67 expression observed plasmo-lymphocytic with immunostaining restricted to nuclei. COX-2 each flat nest, two cases cystitis. Among component lesions, it diffused cytoplasmic type occasional perinuclear staining particularly membrane. immunoreactivity noticed well connective tissue stroma. In conclusion, may be stated that a number occasionally neoplasms. Further studies explore infectious non-infectious etiologies should undertaken.
